Hey, George...long time, no see!

Three hours of work is enough for a government job. Anyone around with a good topic for a rainy Friday?

05/01/09 12:17 PM #137

Allen Barrett

3 hours Brad? getting in some OT?

05/01/09 01:04 PM #138

Brad Huffman

OT? Ha, I wish. I'm 24x7x365 (366 during leap years).

So how was Florida?

Allen Barrett

Hot,dry and windy. Saw lots of customers who really have become our extended family. Get togethers every night with different vendors in the Aviation field. Tons of ice cold beer. Glad to be home though. my partner (and sister) sang to her I-pod ALL DURING THE DRIVE. Jeez, she is horrible lol

I hear you. I love my sister, but no way could I spend that much time in the car with her. Plus going through the south where every radio station is inundated with Lynard Skynrd. It was nice hearing them again while driving through Louisiana, but by Mississippi I was ready to hang myself with some kudzu.

Funny thing, the more I turned the stereo up, the louder she sang. I'm saying to myself, DAMMIT, shut up will ya? It's all good though. The night before we left we were at a crawfish boil so my pipes were well tuned before we even left! 20 hours of gastrointestinal harmonics got the better of her I think. Got to the point i could hit the high notes better than she could!

Mmmmm, boiled crustaceans.

BIG FAT ones. Some in excess of 5 inches. topped it off with roasted corn on the cob, Greek salad and all the cold frosty you could drink. That's the best part of our annual trek, kick *** food and beverages. One group of pilots even had a bluegrass session one night. Kermit Weeks has a warbird museum in Ocala everyone should visit sometime. He also saws a damn fine fiddle. That was cool. They shut us down at 2:00 AM. Said we were disturbing the peace, which we probably were. Seems weird being at an airport and having to be quiet.

05/01/09 02:35 PM #144

Brad Huffman

Yes, and you also need to stop all that flying stuff! I mean it is a airport after all.

Hey Jan, wth, you can't tell me you've actually been working...;

Jan Holt (Hennage)

OMG, girl...I've had pneumonia for the last two weeks! I thought I was going to kick the bucket.
At first I figured I had that damn swine flu, which would have almost been funny with all the barnyard antics around here.
I am feeling a little better....just sooo tired.

yo ho. I just booked myself a solo acoustic music gig at the Sunset Grill on Lewis for the night before the reunion. Check out my page or look in the user forums for more details. I'm expecting to see as many of you as possible, especially since I told the guy there that I could bring tons of people if he would give me the gig.

Thursday, July 9th, Sunset Grill, 98:00-11:00

Sibley, I'm trying to ignoring you.

But Mrs King! The 3rd grade teacher who had us all over for a slumber party and let us watch Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". Robins still make me nervous. Little devils are probably the ones that stole Gray's breadcrumbs!

Jan...

Sorry you've been feeling so bad sister but remind me to kick your butt next time I see that cancer stick in your hand...roflmao (girl, you know i'm messing with ya)

Get better, let me know if you need anything!!

Jamie...

Man, that's sounds like an awesome night! CAN'T wait, David and i'll definately try to pop in~

Jan Holt (Hennage)

Danise...Let's see, you could whip me up a batch of homemade chicken noodle soup, water my plants and do a couple loads of laundry!!
Dave wouldn't mind if you just came to hang out at my place til I'm all better, would he? LOL.

05/06/09 04:48 PM #151

Danise Bell (Cox)

Hell no he probably wouldn't care. Just don't count on him bailing us out of jail once that chicken noodle soup heals you and we decide to go knock a cocktail or two back.

Seriously, i am glad you're feeling better. Sounds like you really were one sick little girl!!

brad - at least you look young and innocent in the pic. Do you really remember the sleep over at Mrs. Kings? All I remember was that place was really scary. everyone kept turning off the lights and crap. What a hoot. Liz Cunningham remembers it too!

I remember it was an older house like you'd find around the TU area, the scene where the birds pecked the lady in the phone booth, sleeping by a chair, and somebody (I thinking Grey Curry, but I'm not sure) cooking Little Smookies on a small grill on the front porch.

And you mean I don't look young and innocent now?

Man I don't remember hardly any teachers from either Junior High or Highschool, but I do remember Ms. King. What a wonderful teacher. I remember she had her grandmother in a back room who was way old--what at least 50. That was a fun night. I know I did not sleep a whole lot. I doubt that Parents today( our generation) would let a group like that go to a teacher's house. I hope I would but who knows. It is geat to read some Stevenson memories.

Mrs. Mace was my favorite. I have the 5th grade pic (Mrs. VanHorn who i don't remember at all), but greg curry and huffman aren't in that one. I remember Mr. Carr the principal cause you got spanked back then with that awful paddle. I'm sure you guys remember that too!

Susan- I considered "swats" a badge of honor. Another thing our kids missed out on. In Junior High I think I got a swat every day in PE. . Yes, I remember Mr Carr. Mr Zimmerman also. Wow. Flashbacks. Some day I am going to find the time to figure out if I have any relevant pics. I can't imagine I do so it is kind of fun to see them. Is Stevenson ( the building) still there?? What is it used for??? Not much unless they added some AC.

.

Susan Sibley (Cox)

Greg - The building is still there but it has been the Islamic Center of Tulsa for some time. I try to do a drive by once a year to see it and our old house. It really was a great neighborhood to grow up in.

It was a great neighborhood. Your Zip line was cool.
