A few months ago, my son was a couple of months into his junior year of high school, and had already spent the second half of his sophomore year doing school from home because of the pandemic. I asked him what he missed most about not going to school...seeing his best friends? Sports? Lunchtime? He said, "You know, I still talk to my best friends all the time. What I miss most is seeing the people that you have classes with that you aren't necessarily best friends with, and they aren't people you hang out with outside of school, but they are people you look forward to seeing once a day in biology class, or Spanish, that you develop a relationship with and really enjoy talking to each day. Those are the relationships I miss the most." That's a long way to get to my point...that I really only shared one class with Gina, but we sat together at one of the big tables in Bachelor Survival class and I always enjoyed talking to her and having one of those kinds of relationships that actually end up meaning more in the long run sometimes. Those little friendships that are the glue to the bigger picture. I'm sure we all remember certain people from our very large class from just one thing we shared. I have always remembered Gina and the laughs and conversation we shared, even though our time spent together was short. And it seems her time with her family has now been cut way too short as well and so my condolences go to her family and friends.
