Phil Parker

Phil Parker

From Mitch Parker, his brother:

It is with great sadness, (but relief), that my brother Phil passed away at 4:57 PM today.(June 16th)  He went peacefully.  They took him off the ventilator yesterday at 4:00 pm.  His brain damage from the timeline was just too severe.  No definitive diagnosis.  He could have had a stroke, maybe 2 or 3?  We don't know.  We do know that his blood sugar level was in the 20's when we found him.  That low blood sugar could just have well caused the brain damage.  (diabetic coma).  Charlie and I are devastated right now but holding it together.  Thank you all for your past and continued support.  If anything good is to be of this, Phil was an organ donor.  And right now his liver and kidneys are now saving a few others lives right now.  It gives us comfort to know that he was a "hero" to others in the end.  God Speed Bro...

I reintroduced myself to Phil after the 30th and he would show up at RF multiple times with his guitar in hand.  He and Danny Living would jam at the drop of a hat and in fact we went on a trip to Mountain View AR to camp and do touristy things with the Livings, the Bishops, my wife and I and Phil. They found out the musicians would gather on the square on the weekends and jam so we all went and the musicians in our group had a blast

i found a picture or two to share from that experience.  Phil was kind and super smart and a joy to be around.

safe travels, Charger !

Oh, man. This is so sad. What an all around great guy we've lost. Phil was warm, funny, smart and kind. Then and still. So happy we reconnected at the reunion and a couple of years ago for coffee. Good journey, Phil! You left the world a better place for your presence. Peace and comfort to his family.
