Oh my goodness! Does anyone know what happened to John?

Music has always been very important to me. John went with me to buy my first stereo. Do you remember at Thoreau, John would play music in the library. I can remember sitting in class and hearing him crank up the first few lines of Foghat's 'Slow Ride' for our listening pleasure. And Sweet's 'Fox on the Run'. I have both those songs on my iPod, and think of John whenever they play.

Rest in Peace John. Thanks for the tunes.

OMG! John was such a sweet guy. In fact, for some reason I was thinking about him just the other day. He was a wrestler (at least at Thoreau he was, can't remember about HS) and I always thought his personality just didn't go with the sport! :) I am so sorry to hear he has passed!

This is hard for me to do, john was the first friend I made when I moved to Tulsa from Californa back in 1975, I still remember us sneaking his dads truck out late at night, It had a three speed but we only could find one gear, it made for a loud slow ride but man did we have fun. I still have 8-tracks that he put together for me, and I think of him every day, he will alway be a great friend and forever missed.

John lived down the street from me when we were growing up. I remember he loved music also. I still have the 2 tapes he made for me when we were in Jr. High.

Remember how much John loved Disco Duck?!!! He was so nice...he was my neighborhood buddy and KarmelKorn co-worker...which was awesome! He could drive before anybody else and would tote us around town...miss him!

I am totally shocked to see that John was in the "In Memory" link. He was the most caring individual I ever knew during high school. I remember him being in Mr. Henderson's history class during the period that lunch occurred. He was a year older than everyone and was always willing to take us to lunch. We loved to go to Burger King. He allowed anyone to pile in his car and off he would go. He always had a smile on his face. Does anyone know the cause of his death?

I have just read about John also. Again I am at a loss for words. John and I went to the 9th grade Prom together!

He was such a sweet and kind guy. I do remember his love for music. Back then he wanted to be a DJ. Does anyone know what happened?

I spent a lot of time with John in high school. He made tens of tapes for me. We worked at the mall together, he would take me to the lake. We snuck out together, too. He was a terrific friend.

I was very lucky to see John many times DJing at a couple bars during the 80s and 90s in Dallas, and one weekend in San Franciso in 1997.  We had a mutual friend living in SF, Gene Cox, who showed us a great weekend during Folsom Street Fair.  Sad, but both Gene and John passed away in 2000.  I always remember John's kindness and extreme knowledge of popular music.  He made me a lot of 8 tracks during high school and turned me on to some really good music I still love to this day.
