Memorial High School Class Of 1979
< 35th Reunion info and survey.
All of the current info you are seeking is located by going to the column to the left and choosing the 2nd link from the top. Be sure and let us know your plans so we can get a good "head count". Thanks! Kevin
Our Friday July 18, 2014 venue is the TriArch Building, 618 E. 3rd St, in Tulsa. it is owned by Scott Vrooman's (Pam's brother) architectual firm. It is the old Rainbow Bread building that they bought in 2009 and gutted /rehabbed to new LEED "green" standards. It has a rooftop garden area and will be a great venure for our Friday night.
It's on!! TMHS Class of 79' Reunion next Summer (July 17-20, 2014)
I'm very pleased to make the pre-announcement that we have secured our Saturday venue for the Reunion 35. I will make more details available as they become solidified, but know that many of you are wanting to get hard dates for travel and vacation plans.
These dates are golden, as we have already paid our deposit on our Saturday night spot, thanks to a very generous donation by one of our classmates, and lots of hard work by many others.
As usual, this class rises to the top and YOU ALL ROCK!! (you just dont know how much, yet!!)
Summer Get-Together -Tulsa July 20th
Cosmo Cafe and Bar - 34th and Peoria. 5:30pm - Come and join us to have good times and laughs, discussions of what to plan for in next years 35th Reunion...
UPDATE. 7/27/13 -
32 of the class met, had laughs, talked about next year and generally had a great time seeing each other. Most left with a good feel that, yes there was a lot of interest in next years 35th being a good idea. Several people there besides me have begun the process of researching venues for next summer. The proposed dates in mind will be July 2014, and either the second to last weekend or last weekend , venues willing. We are still waiting on a few places to get back with us on availabilty and pricing. Anyone with ideas should either get back with me or Cheryl Crawford or Stacy Gill. Start making plans, Chargers!! Its a party!
Hey Chargers of 79' -
Just a housekeeping note, but it has come to my attention that many of you have email accounts tied into work or cable providers etc.
As this site works on keeping you updated on the many functions this class has planned, it depends on an active email account to do so. I STRONGLY suggest you make your primary email account here, one that isnt a work related one rather one web based(i.e. Gmail, Hotmail etc...).
This way, if you happen to change jobs, the company gets bought out and changes IP info, or you move and dont have the same IP, you dont miss out on current info and cant log in because it sends your hints to an old email you cant get to... Most of these types of email accounts are free and hold years worth of old email on the cloud, not wasting space on your computer!
Feel free to email me if you need help in this easy process.
Just 1 short year til 35th. Make sure we get you opinion of how to make it the best one yet.
Note to the Class of 79'
John Hellanders passing and some subsequent discussions amoungst classmates (both in Tulsa and globally online on FaceBook and emails) has me thinking about our class as more than just a source of "fun and partying". Shouldnt we make a bigger difference?
I certainly enjoy Riverfests and the local functions and seeing old friends like the next person, I just think its time for our class to "shine" in ways that make a bigger difference to to world around us.
Intially, I proposed we collect among ourselves as a class gift on John's behalf, a meaningful gift to the American Heart Association in his name. We have collected a small amount from those who attended his memorial. If you would like to contribute please email me for details.
Yearly, I would like us to collect more to give to other associations, like those looking for cures for cancer, diabetes, etc. I know we have cancer survivors in our class, and I have diabetes, as do serveral others in our class.
I am not asking folks to give if they are unable. I just know that as large as our class was, those of us that could give, could make a difference...even by giving a small amount. There is power in numbers, they say!
Additionally, please feel free to email me any comment or suggestions you might have.
The 30th Reunion was July 9th, 10th and 11th, 2009 in Tulsa!!! A blast was had by all!! Pictures online now, here and here!! New video below!!
