Gordon Osberghaus

Gordon Osberghaus

Gordon passed away September 6, 2015 after an 18 month battle with cancer. We were lucky enough to see Gordon in May at one of the impromptu gatherings in Tulsa we often have and he had a chance to share what he was going thru and reconnect with several of us. He was a kind soul and will be missed! KW

Thanks for posting the notification. I heard about Gordon's passing yesterday. He had been fighting such a hard battle against cancer and even though you knew it was taking a toll on him, he always had a positive outlook for his future. He loved his kids more than life itself and I am sure that bond was what helped him survive as long as he did.

If you get the chance, you might want to take a look at his Facebook page. It is full of wonderful comments from friends, family and co-workers about Gordon's influcence on their lives and families and how much he will be missed.

Rest in peace my friend.

So sad to hear this news. I will admit to not really knowing Gordon personally in high school, but, like in so many instances as we get older, you thankfully get the chance to connect with people and know their stories and relate to them in so many ways as adults. I've been so fortunate to connect with many of our classmates over the last few years and was very much looking forward to getting to know Gordon. He had posted in our Riverfest group on Facebook about hopefully joining next year and sounded so upbeat and positive about it that I didn't fully understand where his state of health was. I know that I will be lesser for not having known Gordon as I read more about what a great person he was. I wish his close friends and family good thoughts through their time of grieving.

I remember Gordon best from our involvement in Interact back in high school. Softspoken with a lethal sense of humor. A small group of classmates got together for dinner back in April and Gordon was there. We had a very enjoyable conversation. He talked about his illness and seemed to be coping quite well. He looked forward to coming to Riverfest in the future. Saddened by his death, but to a greater degree, grateful for his life and the simple gift of his friendship.

FYI, Gordon's nephew, Mark Dover, is the boys soccer coach and athletic director at Memorial.

Sorry to hear the news about Gordon. We worked together at John A Btown in the mall there.  He was a hard worker and a great guy. My prayers go out to his family.
