I met Robert the summer before I was to start going to Memorial.  We had moved and changed school districts. I knew no one at Memorial.  Robert picked me up my first day and made sure I knew where my classes were.  He was a senior but was so kind to help out a sophomore.  He was always a good friend.  Prayers for his family

Robert was one of the first friends I made in the summer of 1972, when my family moved from New Jersey to Tulsa.  His father, along with my father, worked at Citgo, and our families got together often.

I remember that Robert and I would hang-out with Mike Vowels and Phil Hunter - we were a "gang," and called ourselves "The Rats."  We never did anything wrong, but we had a wonderful "punk" attitude.

Years later, I ran into Robert again - he was a passionate bodybuilder, was ripped, and, I believe, won several titles in his sport.  He started his own gym at 11th&Mingo, and I worked-out there.  He was very proud of his place.

I really had not seen him since that time, but I tried to keep up with him on this website.

Rest in peace, my friend, and may God bless you and watch over you.

Tom

Here is Miss Bartlett's 6th Grade Class at Grissom.  Robert is sitting on the floor, to the right, holding the sign.  I am in the back row - guess you can figure out which one is me.
