I've recently had the pleasure of designing a super-cool, off-grid cabin deep in the Mulberry river wilderness for a couple of old Hippies. I asked them to shed all preconceived ideas of what a cabin should look like, as ours might look like a spaceship that had crash landed on the hillside.
I'm honored to be the architect for the Additions and Remodeling of the Historic ROCKWOOD CLUB, Fayetteville's original honky-tonk. My mother recalls partying here as a Tri-Delt in the mid 50's. In 1964 the club was bought by Madison County's own Ronnie Hawkins, and was to become the incubator where his band, the Hawks morphed from Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks, through Levon and the Hawks, into just the Hawks before changing their name one final time in 1969 when they became the BAND.
In March this year I hosted an old friend, Hadden Sayers (nominee for the 2019 BMA Artist of the Year Award. He didnt win...) for a House Concert in my sideyard. It was a hit, and we've created a monster. I'm about to host the 4th show, Fayetteville's own ROCHELLE BRADSHAW & HYPNOTION. a funky reggae fusion band. Rochelle has performed on two Grammy winning albums and was a member of the original Wailers. Having just returned from touring with Stephen Marley, this will be her first Fayetteville gig in months. The show is Thursday June 13th, at 8p.m, the night before the reunion.
